Yeah - so I am not very proficient at blogging ... The long update consists of the following
I put up my 1,000 image on iStock in March
I got a much needed new computer system - BUT I am
still having issues with it - I had it built, so I will have to
take it all down and run it across town - something I am
not looking forward to - but MUST do - its killing me here I have so much to get done.
HERE is the box
Worked with a couple really fun models there though.
My Nephew was home from Iraq on leave in May
and got married!!
They came and visited on their honeymoon (I guess you do what you can when you have limited time). I got some good shots of them - HERE is the box
I was also in Paris and the Alsace region of France for
the majority of May. (You guessed it - ALL yet to be processed) I've got wedding shots in front of the Eiffel Tower and my favorite are some more personal portrait type shots of the bride and groom shot at our flat in Paris as they were out on the balcony and I was looking out through the big glass (open) French doors.Nothing new in the box yet but the link is live with Paris shots from last year ... new ones soon I promise!!
And finally I was in Austin Texas - with iStock photo for the SXS'Lypse. iStock always has incredibly great events and this was no exception. The humidity was crazy and the mosquitoes made me a believer that everything really is Bigger in Texas. I spent most of my time on the video side of things, learning. Jim (VCR) was a great teacher, he has contagious enthusiasm. I did get a few shots off on Saturday, they are already up and in my portfolio - HERE is the box
So thats the story. ~
Yep today's the day - I had my 10,000 download today at
iStock & hit Gold! I have
been excitedly looking forward to it, watching the numbers roll by the last few
weeks counting down to today (my dad has too). It’s hard to imagine my images
being downloaded that many times, but I am sure happy for it!!
Now I guess I should get off the computer and go celebrate!! :)
I recently went back to San Diego, where I used to live through Jr & senior high. I got to see my Niece and that was wonderful, once a year is not enough though I can tell you that - time is always short but it was great to see her! She has this amazing little dog, and now I want one just like it!! :) I also got to meet my Nephews girlfriend (he is off in the Middle East wearing green somewhere), that was nice even though she's at least a foot taller then me ... I don't have a "short complex" nope, never had ... lol. (LIGHTBOX)
I also got to see so many friends that I grew up with! That was the biggest surprise to me, it was amazing to be in this room with all these people that you haven’t seen in years - people you know deeply and intimately, people that you have spent so much of your life with, best friends if there ever was any ... then bam ... high school is over, people move away (that would be me & a few others) get married, have kids, careers, lives that no longer circle around one another ... before you know it years have gone by ... then sitting in this room full of old familiar faces that are at first hard to recognize (some of them) then there is the sound of a laugh that you would know anywhere ... close your eyes and you transported back in time and for that split second ... no time has passed at all.
My trip was very fun!! I met some great people, stayed in a wonderful place (The Fairmount on top of Nob Hill isn’t shabby!!) and had the pleasure of photographing some very nice and stylish people. Now comes the arduous task of processing, which I have started, but am still working on. That and several other jobs, training, inspecting, shooting … who really has time for things like “computer problems?” (-Gasp-) (LIGHTBOX)
I really want to thank the models from The Fairmount shoot!!! Each one of them did such an amazing & fantastic job. They were so into it they had me fooled at one point & I had to ask what they were really looking at on the computer screen (nothing of course - and I knew that). There was nothing but rave reviews from the class members too!! Anyway, my deepest and most sincere thanks and appreciation, I couldn’t have done it without you!! (LIGHTBOX)
